Editorial photography sits somewhere between documentation and interpretation. It’s about telling a story clearly, while leaving room for nuance.
I photograph editorial assignments for publications, brands and organisations, working to a brief but always staying alert to what’s happening beyond it. Sometimes the most useful images are the ones that weren’t planned - the moments between, the detail that adds context, the frame that explains more than words alone.
Having worked on editorial projects across the UK, I’m comfortable responding to different subjects, environments and time pressures. The approach remains consistent: work quickly, stay observant, and deliver images that are purposeful, adaptable and honest.
Whether the brief is portrait-led, documentary, or location-based, the aim is the same - photographs that support the story without distracting from it.
A very different kind of storytelling; this is all about conveying the message of an article or brand which reflects key objectives.
